Build a business that powers your life

Working harder already proved it is not the answer

The systems that kept your business alive were never designed to set you free

If any of these sound familiar, you are not alone...

The business depends on me for everything

I feel isolated and no one understands the weight

I’ve built a team but I’m still the default escalation point

My health and relationships are paying the price

I’m the bottleneck for every meaningful decision

I don’t have a rhythm. I run on urgency and instinct

We surveyed 352 entrepreneurs in Nova Scotia. The findings shaped everything we built.

The pattern is clear. Growth increases complexity. The founder becomes the centre of gravity for every decision. And without structural relief, the business consumes the person who built it. That pattern is common. And it is correctable.

69%

report declining mental health since starting their business.

76%

tie their self-worth directly to business performance.

44%

don't feel they're getting what they wanted from their business.

62%

report a diagnosed anxiety or depression condition.

When your business starts running you. It’s a signal that your systems could be broken.

Growth has increased complexity.
Decisions pile up.
You remain the centre of gravity.
That pattern is common.
And it’s correctable.

Founders Forum helps you shift value concentration in your business and gain your freedom.

In most founder-led businesses, everything flows through one person. Client relationships, operational decisions, team management, revenue generation. That model works early. But it becomes the ceiling. 90% of entrepreneurs rate growth as highly important, yet only 16% feel confident their business delivers what they set out to build.

Founders Forum is the room where that changes. We use a score-driven system called the Freedom Index to identify your specific constraint across four dimensions: People, Systems, Technology, and Mindset. Your score sets the focus. The community delivers the support. Every 90 days, the score moves or it doesn't, and that is data too.

You move from operator to owner. Decisions get cleaner. Roles get defined. Momentum stops relying on your effort alone. And you start building a business that actually works for you.

THE FREEDOM INDEX

Four dimensions. One score. Your roadmap.

Every member has a score. The score identifies the constraint. The constraint drives the focus. The program delivers the support.

Radar chart with five categories: Freedom, People, Technology, Mindset, and Systems, each with ratings out of 10, and a central score of 4.5.

PEOPLE

Can your business operate without you personally managing every person in it? Founder role clarity, culture design, accountability structures, hiring for fit, and building the depth that lets you step back.

SYSTEMS

Do decisions have a home and problems have a process, or are you still reacting to everything? Operating framework, meeting cadence, financial visibility, pipeline, and the workflows that remove you from the middle.

TECHNOLOGY

You are probably paying for tools you barely use. Tech audit first. Then CRM, project management, communication architecture, AI integration, and automation. Stage-appropriate tools, fully adopted, before anything new.

MINDSET

Burnout causes operational problems. A founder running on empty makes worse decisions about everything else. The identity shift from operator to owner. Separating self-worth from revenue. This is the multiplier.

HOW IT WORKS

The framework for sustainable scale.

A focused year to strengthen how your business runs around you, instead of through you. Score-driven. Peer-accountable. Built for founders who are done guessing where to focus.

Quarterly Intensive

One full day in person at White Point Beach Resort. Members are encouraged to arrive the evening before, settle in, and have dinner with the group. The day itself runs score review, a teaching block, a dimension expert session, afternoon dimension rooms, cross-dimension pairing, hot seats, and individual planning. You leave with one commitment stated aloud to the room.

Dimension Experts

Monthly virtual sessions led by specialists in each dimension. You attend the sessions most relevant to your current constraint. The score drives the scheduling, not a fixed curriculum calendar.

Biweekly Open Sessions

90 minutes every other week. Open to all active members across all cohorts. A short provocation on one dimension, then score-based breakout rooms where you work on your specific constraint with peers facing the same thing. The week that follows is not a rest week. It is working time. Come back with something done.

Private Peer Community

Ongoing access to a curated room of founders who understand the weight of what you carry. The trust built at intensives carries into the weeks between them. This is where isolation ends.

Meet Your Facilitators

Marquis Murray

Founder and systems thinker focused on helping leaders design businesses that create freedom. He brings clarity, structure, and hard-earned perspective from building and operating companies himself. He's grown teams, survived an acquisition, built through COVID, and spent years doing the unglamorous work of removing himself from the middle of his own business.

Jason Davis

Built and led organizations across Atlantic Canada. Made expensive mistakes, recovered from them, and developed a reputation as the person other founders call when things get complicated. Brings operational rigour and the honest perspective of someone who has lost money, learned from it, and built something better because of it.

In my business, everything ran through me. Even with a team, I was still quarterbacking too many decisions.

Now the team operates with clarity, decisions are made faster, and the business doesn’t rely on me to keep things moving.

I was stuck reacting all day. Putting out fires instead of leading the business.

Now we run on clear systems, my team owns outcomes, and I’m no longer pulled into everything.

PILOT COHORT

Launching May 2026. Limited to 12 founders.

The first cohort is intentionally small. Every member gets direct access to Marquis and Jason, and the program is refined in real time based on what the room needs. Once the pilot cohort is full, the next intake opens after they complete their first half-year.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

Is Founders Forum right for me?

  • No. Founders Forum is for any founder or executive who runs or co-runs a business. Whether you have a partner or operate solo, the program works the same way. Your Freedom Index score drives your focus, not your org structure.

  • This is for businesses that have traction but are hitting the ceiling of what the founder can personally hold. You have revenue. You probably have a team. But growth is creating more problems than it solves, and working harder stopped being the lever a while ago. If that sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

  • Good. That means you're past survival mode. The program meets you where your score says you are. If your systems are strong but your people dimension is lagging, that is where you work. If your technology is solid but mindset is a 4, the room will push you there. The Freedom Index removes the guesswork.

  • One bi-weekly open session (90 minutes). One quarterly intensive (one full day in person at White Point Beach Resort). The rest happens inside your business as you implement what you commit to each quarter. The program is designed for founders who are already busy. It replaces the reactive work, not adds to it.

  • No. There is no coach telling you what to do. Founders Forum is a structured peer community. You're in a room with other founders who understand the weight of what you carry. Marquis and Jason bring frameworks, hold the room accountable, and facilitate the work. The members do the work. Your peers are the ones who won't let you off the hook.

  • The Freedom Index. Every other program starts with a fixed curriculum and hopes it fits. Founders Forum starts with your score and builds the work around your actual constraint. Every quarter you retake the assessment, walk the room through what moved and what didn't, and set one commitment for the next 90 days. That accountability loop is the mechanism that makes the program work.

  • Take the Freedom Index. It's a 24-question diagnostic that takes about 8 minutes. Your results will tell you exactly where your business stands across People, Systems, Technology, and Mindset, and where the constraint is. If the report makes you feel seen, you're ready.

Take the Freedom Index

24 questions. About 8 minutes. You will get a personalized report showing exactly where your business stands across People, Systems, Technology, and Mindset, and where to focus first.

Built on research from 352 Nova Scotia entrepreneurs. Your score identifies the constraint. The report shows you the work. And if you want help doing it, Founders Forum is where that happens.
